The week-end after Easter each year is the Annual Waynoka Snake Hunt Week-End! Snake hunt week-end is one of the wildest week-ends in the entire region as thousands converge on the small town of Waynoka to have fun at the “dunes”, enjoy the carnival and get together with old friends. Of course, for those of you interested in Rattle Snakes—well you have got to check this event out! Snake hunters work tirelessly for several weeks prior to Snake Hunt catching as many snakes as possible from the gyp hills surrounding the community. Prizes are awarded to the longest snake, to hunters for catching the most snakes and for those who bring in the most pounds of snakes. The “Den of Death” is snake central throughout the event. A free ham and bean dinner is available on Saturday to all who wish to attend. Contact the Waynoka Chamber of Commerce for more information at www.waynokachamber.com
