Try the Vintage House in Burlington, just a few miles up the road from Alva or for down-home bar-b-que, head over to the Smoke Shack in Ingersoll—due east of Alva on state highway 11 just 10 minutes down the road or try out Red’s Place on the boulevard in Alva! Café Bahnhof, is home to authentic German fare and beer garden and is located in downtown Waynoka! Live music and the annual “paint the wall” events are part of the fun at Café Bahnhof. Want a Sports Bar feel? Check out Champs on the south edge of Alva! Whatever you wish in the way of down-home “eats”, our locally owned establishments will take good care of you. For those who are new to Oklahoma, be sure to try the “chicken fried steak” which isn’t “chicken at all”---rather breaded and deep fried beef steak and be sure to ask for cream gravy on the side—now that is true Okie cooking!
