Photography Opportunities

We know that many of you prefer remembering your outdoor adventures through the lens of a camera.

Let us show you the splendors of Woods County photography!

The Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge is the perfect spot for “catching the sunsets or birds” of the region. Farther west, along the Cimarron River you will find some of the most spectacular photo shots in Oklahoma.

Are you looking to “hone your skills” at outdoor photography, then you might want to consider joining us each summer at the Annual “Picture My Week-end” photography workshop which is held the first Saturday in August each summer.
The workshop is held at the famous Runnymede Hotel Cultural Center in downtown Alva and professional photographers share their tips and tricks with the camera. For more information about the workshop, please contact Dr. Rod Murrow at NWOSU at (580) 327-8589 or at Murrow’s Frame Art shop in downtown Alva. The phone number at the shop is (580) 327-4600.

The Fifth Sister Gallery in Waynoka is the "go-to" place to preserve your photos using giclee` techniques.  Give Connie a call at: (580) 824-0066 and let her help you!

Contact the Woods County Visitors’ Center at (580) 327-1647 or Woods County Tourism Coordinator, Susan Parent (580) 327-2150 for assistance in setting up a photo-shoot! We want to share our gorgeous views with you!
