The Northwester
n Oklahoma State University Museum of Natural History maintains one of the more substantial collections of preserved waterfowl in world. The museum also displays Plains Indians’ artifacts, fossils, archaeological finds as well as other extinct species—many of which were collected by former Northwestern faculty member Dr. T.C. Carter. Through the years, students and faculty have worked to add to the collection and maintain the artifacts for public viewing. The museums is currently housed in the W.P.A. structure, Jesse Dunn classroom building, which is located on the northeast corner of campus.
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 1:00 to 5:00 and other times by appointment. For group tours, it is recommended that you call ahead and notify the staff so that special arrangements can be made to facilitate your tour. Historic photos of the northwestern campus are also on display in Jesse Dunn and in the museum.
