Every summer millions of Mexican Free-Tailed Bats migrate back to Northwest Oklahoma to the caves of western Woods County. The Selman Living Laboratory and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife have provided this wonderful opportunity to the public to learn about bats, their ecosystems, and their habits. Enjoy an evening under the stars of the wild west when you sign up for a Bat Watch tour. Tours depart from Alabaster Caverns State Park and participants travel by bus to the bat watch area. For more information or to schedule your family for a “wildlife experience” contact www.watchbats.com and get yourself ready for an experience you won’t soon forget! Lodging is available at Cedar Canyon Lodge or Sage and Saddle Bed and Breakfast in the nearby town of Freedom. Go to our lodging page to get more information!
