Santa Fe Depot and Harvey House

Rail fans and historic preservationists will find the historic Waynoka Santa Fe Depot Museum and Harvey House Complex a pure delight. The Waynoka Historical Society began work on a full restoration of the historic structures in the 1990s which has resulted in a significant collection of rail and air artifacts. The historic Mission Style depot was built in 1910 by the Santa Fe Railroad. The Harvey House, which sits adjacent to the depot, has been completely restored to its original grandeur and now houses the El Charro restaurant. The Harvey House Reading Room, located on the second floor of the building, is home to the museum. Railroad memoribilia, the Lindbergh Line Transcontinental Air Transport artifacts, and an extensive collection of Cherokee Strip photographs are on display in the museum. Along with the Depot and Harvey House, the complex includes a Railroad Foreman’s Section House, a pioneer log cabin from early settlers to the Cherokee Strip, and a locomotive.
